LIVE!!~AEW Double or Nothing 2020 Live Stream FREE online. LIVE!!~AEW Double or Nothing 2020 Live Stream FREE online., All Elite Wrestling’s PPV schedule is more sporadic than WWE’s. When they did their last show, AEW Revolution, it was on Leap Day. It was a different time. The coronavirus was still in the “not that big deal” phase where delaying the new James Bond movie seemed like a silly, exaggerated response. The match of the night was Hangman Page and Kenny Omega vs. the Young Bucks and the aftermath was very open-ended as all four men and Cody were set to take on the Inner Circle in what was supposed to be AEW’s version of War Games.
Soon after, they did a show in Jacksonville with no audience due to COVID-19 concerns. Next thing you know, they’re at QT Marshall’s training facility in Georgia for a month’s worth of tapings, featuring 1/3 of the AEW roster and a handful of indie wrestlers. The Young Bucks were off the show and spent their times doing their YouTube series. Hangman Page was also quiet. The feud between Best Friends and the Death Triangle abruptly stopped.
At first, it seemed like AEW was going to go on hiatus after the tapings finished. Instead, with Florida allowing wrestling to exist as an essential business (man, 2020 is insane), AEW’s in the clear to keep their shows going, including their one-year anniversary show, AEW Double or Nothing 2020.
WHEN IS AEW DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2020?
The show will take place on Saturday, May 23 at 8pm, at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to the COVID-19 situation, it was going to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Jon Moxley defends the AEW World Championship against Mr. Brodie Lee at AEW Double or Nothing 2020
JON MOXLEY (C) VS. BRODIE LEE
AEW World Championship
Jon Moxley ended Revolution as the new AEW World Champion. After usurping Chris Jericho, he went on to have a mini-feud with Jake Hager, ending with Moxley retaining his title. From there, he knew he was going into Double or Nothing with a target on his back. After defeating Frankie Kazarian in a non-title match, Moxley was attacked by the Dark Order, followed soon by their leader, Mr. Brodie Lee.

The former Luke Harper recently arrived to AEW and revealed himself as the Exalted One of the Dark Order. Via pre-taped scenes, he showed himself to be an eccentric and crazed leader, holding many specific inside-baseball similarities to one Vince McMahon. He made his move by attacking Moxley and demanded a title shot. A beaten Moxley joked that he just had to ask. Brodie left him laying with a running kick to the head.

He also left with his championship belt.
A week later, a pissed-off Moxley reappeared to chase off Brodie after Brodie defeated Christopher Daniels. Brodie escaped by throwing one of his Creepers at Moxley to keep him busy. For the go-home show, Moxley defeated Dark Order heavy Ten. Moxley threatened to break his arm if Brodie didn’t appear and since Brodie decided to simply leave the building, Moxley destroyed Ten’s arm with a chair.

Nyla Rose defends the AEW Women’s World Championship against Hikaru Shida at AEW Double or Nothing 2020
NYLA ROSE (C) VS. HIKARU SHIDA
No Disqualification/No Count-Out Match for the AEW Women’s Championship
During that month or so of taped shows, it wasn’t a great time for the women’s division. Well, more than usual. Champion Nyla Rose stayed home and there wasn’t that deep of a pool of women competing. Hikaru Shida was there and was dominant, though, even getting a win over Britt Baker. She already had momentum and this was certainly solidifying it.

A couple weeks before Double or Nothing, Shida took part in a four-way match against Penelope Ford, Britt Baker, and Kris Statlander. While Baker and Statlander were busy fighting on the outside, Shida was able to pin Ford in the ring. Backstage, Nyla Rose confronted her and attacked her with a kendo stick.

A week later, there was a tag match of Baker and Rose vs. Statlander and Shida. Rose won and then set up a table to further hurt the challenger. Thanks to Statlander’s help, Shida was able to suplex Rose through that table instead.
Cody vs. Lance Archer for the TNT Championship at AEW Double or Nothing 2020
CODY VS. LANCE ARCHER
AEW TNT Championship Tournament Finals
It all started after Revolution, as Jake “The Snake” Roberts warned Cody that he had a protégé ready to take Cody down. This was revealed to be Lance Archer. Nonplussed and not feeling Archer was worth his immediate time, Cody put Archer in some easier and quicker matches. Archer was not pleased.
To kill time with all those taped episodes of Dynamite, a tournament was put together to crown the secondary singles title, the AEW TNT Championship. Cody got past rivals Shawn Spears and Darby Allin. Archer had no problem running through Colt Cabana and Dustin Rhodes. He beat Dustin so badly that others needle Cody for not throwing in the towel when he had the chance.
In his various promos, Jake Roberts acted especially sleazy when discussing Cody’s wife Brandi. Brandi played it off cool by doing a counter promo about how she wanted her name out of Jake’s mouth, but things escalated during a match between Archer and QT Marshall. Archer destroyed Marshall and shortly after, Britt Baker laid out Brandi in response to an earlier confrontation. Brandi was left laying in the ring and Jake placed a snake over her prone body to taunt her.

A week later, Jake cut a promo about his refusal to apologize, interrupted by Cody busting onto the scene in a truck. Cody and Archer fought each other to a standstill until Jake insisted Archer back off.

At the PPV, the winner will be presented the championship belt by Mike Tyson.
Stadium Stampede: The Inner Circle vs. The Elite at AEW Double or Nothing 2020
THE INNER CIRCLE VS. THE ELITE
Stadium Stampede
Originally, right before the pandemic hit, we were supposed to get a Blood and Guts (off-brand War Games) match between the Inner Circle and the Elite, but with Matt Hardy replacing Nick Jackson. Obviously, that did not happen. Instead, they stretched out the feud a bit, especially with focus on Jericho vs. Matt Hardy.
The first live episode of Dynamite after the month of taped episodes had Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy take on Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a street fight. It was an over-the-top match that ended in the Inner Circle getting the win thanks to the rest of the faction showing up to interfere.
Jericho decided to pitch for another attempt at the stable vs. stable match. This time, it will be the Inner Circle (Jericho, Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana, and Ortiz) vs. the Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Hardy, Hangman Page, and the Young Bucks) fighting it out at a football stadium. The Bucks have been stuck quarantined at their home while Hangman Page has recently tried living in the woods.

Hardy’s pet drone Vanguard-1 accepted the match on behalf of the Elite. Jericho proceeded to destroy the drone with a baseball bat, emotionally scarring Hardy.

A week later, Hardy defeated Guevara in a singles match, only to see the rest of the Inner Circle on the football field, attacking Omega with a baseball bat. Hardy ran over to join the fight, soon joined by the returning Young Bucks and Hangman Page. The Inner Circle was sent running and Hangman walked off to be by himself rather than celebrate with his future teammates.
Casino Ladder Match at AEW Double or Nothing 2020
CASINO LADDER MATCH
Future AEW World Championship match
Since this is a couple weeks after WWE’s PPV about ladder matches that get you title shots, then when in Rome. So far the match will feature Darby Allin, Colt Cabana, Orange Cassidy, Scorpio Sky, Kip Sabian, Frankie Kazarian, Luchasaurus, and Joey Janela. The last entrant will be a surprise.
The rules are a staggered entry (ie. Royal Rumble), but a late entry is a double-edged sword. The match can be won at any point, so if someone is able to somehow get to the top of the ladder when there are only three people involved, the match is over. Then again, ladder matches are never a sprint, so expect everyone to make their entrance before a winner is decided.
Either way, this will be a good way to give us a championship contender who isn’t a WWE castoff.

Note: Rey Fenix was originally set to be in this match, but during the go-home episode of Dynamite, he took a rough fall during a post-match dive and is injured enough that he has to sit out the PPV.
